*NEW* Q&A - 47. ShaySmiless: Have you been bullied?

Hey guys!

So back in September 2010 (feels like not so long ago doesn't it?) I held a contest/giveaway thing where I asked for people to enter by asking me different questions. I promised that I would try and answer a few of these questions each week in a special Q&A video, and I did start doing it but because I went away, and I haven't had much time recently to do any sort of videos, I thought that it might be a good idea to focus on some of the questions that I feel I can talk quite a bit about either because it means a lot to me or, like the question of this blog, affected me and continues to affect a number of other people. So, I thought this would probably be a good place to start if I'm going to talk about anything that's worth talking about.

SO...
ShaySmiless asked me 'Have you ever been bullied?'

The simple answer is, yes.

I think that pretty much every child is 'picked on' at school but there is a very fine line, albeit a difference, between being picked on and being bullied. For starters, being picked on doesn't necessarily mean that the 'victim' is actually offended - it might be from friends just making a joke about your hair. THAT becomes bullying when people start to make you an outcast in your day to day life about your hairstyle... as I said, a very fine line. It also becomes bullying when it's a constant thing. And I'm not saying that you won't be bullied by your friends, but normally it's the people who don't know you and try and judge you, hence they start to continuously pick on you = bullying! In my opinion, these people are ignorant.

It's not just being 'picked on' that constitutes as bullying, and I guess I was probably one of the lucky ones in some respects. The worst thing that ever happened to me was receiving a hate letter with newspaper alphabet cut outs - it said something I wish not to repeat, but the message was extremely hurtful and certainly scared me! But some are beaten to the ground for money, or just for the fun of it. Or even worse.

A bully will always find a reason to say something hurtful to you and yes, they probably do get a kick out of it. I do not know how the mind of a bully works, but I'd like to think that they go home and regret what they've done... but I can't say that, that is in fact what I believe. I do, however, believe that most 'bullies' are jealous of their unfortunate victim. I don't agree that envy is a just reason to make someone else's life an absolute misery, but I guess for a bully it makes them feel better if they think that someone else is feeling a whole lot worse than they are.

I was bullied pretty much all through primary school, for the reason I can only guess was racism. My skin is the colour of Indian heritage... Enough said, I guess. And this is still going on!! Even with all the schools having  'stop bullying' campaigns. And this isn't the only reason... homosexual people are bullied by homophobic's, just simply because homophobic's aren't comfortable with having gay or lesbian people in this world - so they make their lives hell. Bullies are probably some of the people who walk around saying terrorism is bad or war is horrific... Hypocrites? I think so... In fact, I know so. I don't believe in making anyone's life a living misery. No matter what colour their skin is, no matter what God they do or do not believe in, or what sex they have a desire for. Any person deserves to be treated the way YOU want to be treated.

In secondary school, it somewhat slackened but none the less it took quite a few years for me to ever forgive the people who made a large chunk of my childhood a part of my life that I really wish I couldn't remember. 'Til this day it still affects me in so many ways; I've never been a confident person and I truly believe that being bullied is a major factor in not accepting myself for the way I am. And in some respects of my life, it makes me think that I'm a failure for not being able to fight for myself. I remember my dad always having to go to my school headteacher to complain that 'she came home crying... AGAIN'  or 'She got hit with a chair leg in her shin and came home crying... AGAIN' or 'this morning my daughter woke up and said she didn't want to go to school because she was scared... I told her she had to go and she came home crying... AGAIN' . I'll never EVER forget my dad shouting these words at my headteacher while I was in the room, and I promise I will never EVER forget the people that caused my dad to do such a thing. And if it was my child, I would do exactly the same thing! It needs to be stopped!!!

As I've grown up I still have all these hang ups about the way I look, the way I dress, the way I walk and talk, or even the way I do my make up... but through the years I've performed music on the violin in front of an audience and I've stood up on stage in front of a club full of people on numerous occasions and I've been applauded. And, some days when I'm down and I've got all these awful memories residing in my mind, I think of all the times that someone's complimented me, or the sound of hundreds of people clapping because they enjoyed watching and/or listening to me. It really is a good feeling, and makes me feel that I've come out the other end of bullying, a much stronger person - emotionally and mentally.

So, if you are going through this I want you to remember that you are a beautiful person, inside and out and that you should NOT under any circumstances let these horrible people get to you. I know it's easier said than done, but you have to keep telling yourself that you are worth everything and more compared to the bullies who have nothing else better to do but get their kicks by making your life a living hell. In the end, you'll come out with a much better life than they have and ever will have.

If you've gone through it, help as much people who are being bullied as you can! It needs to be stopped, and I know that if you've lived through it all you will agree with me. I wouldn't want my little brother to go through it, and I wouldn't want any other child to go through it. No one deserves to be treated in that way.

As a last note; I tried to forgive them and I guess I partially have... but I will NEVER forget these people. I remember their names and their faces still haunt me. But I thank them for making me the person I am today. Without them I would never have been able to accomplish everything I have and will!

Miscellaneous: DON'T EVER DO A BIOLOGY DEGREE!!

WHAT A STRESSFUL WEEK!! Oh my goodness... I was almost at the point of hyperventilating last night because I was panicking at the amount of work that has piled up on my desk. I have a crazy amount of work due in before March 7th and it really is getting the better of me! BUT... As from today I have moved into the library (yes, I am joking xD ... I haven't completely lost the plot just yet)... As in, if anyone ever needs me chances are I will be in the library as of today! Lol

My arm is KILLING me as well... I had to carry 2 massive textbooks home on the train =[

I'm gonna go now and have a really nice long bath, and sing 'til my heart's content ... because I just deserve to relax a little after the week I've had. I bought some really nice clothes today from New Look... and some funky jewellery ... I'll post some pictures at a later date.

But this is my official warning, do not ever do a biology degree!! Lol... Though I'm sure other degree's are just as hard if not harder... MEDICINE for example would be like an extra 3 years of HARDER! ...And to think I wanted to do that O_O

The best part of my week was well... getting to play some fruit slicing game on a friends iPhone (I refuse to buy one myself coz I don't like them... but give me that game any day HAHA) and I had a lecture this week on Brain Development... It was honestly the most interesting and fascinating lecture I've had since I started uni... I was actually sad when it was over! Haha

I think this is possibly the shortest blog post since I've come back from India lol... I'll leave it here!

Take care guys... thanks for reading!

Miscellaneous: All you'll ever gonna be is mean...

Hey guys!

Just a quick blog post since I haven't managed to upload any videos to youtube yet. I have recorded them, but the software that I use to convert the video files isn't working for some strange reason. I'll see what I can do this week - hopefully I'll be able to sort it out!

This past few weeks I've been listening to Taylor Swift's new album, Speak Now, like craaaaaaaaaaaaaazy! It's such an amazing album. Every song I listen to either makes me just want sing out loud just to get my point across to that person because the lyrics in some of hers are just the words you need to put someone straight. It's really great stuff. And there are loads of great songs on it... on her other albums I could probably pick one or two songs out that are really amazing, but this album is just the opposite where I could probably pick one or two that I don't really like that much.
... There's one song that I avoid like the plague - Last Kiss. When I first got the album and the song made me cry I thought 'great song'... the times I listened to it after that and it made me cry each and every time I thought 'this song is never gonna get old - it's so great' and now, I just can't listen to it because everytime I do I can feel my eyes welling up xD

Anywaaaaaaaaay - moving on... I was meant to get a new phone today but 3 were being difficult, so I didn't. Which really upset me, because I've really been looking forward to getting a new phone. But as I said, 3 is just being stupid at the moment. Still, there's nothing wrong with my phone. Edward (my phone) serves me well so there's not really much point in changing it... at least that's what I'm telling myself. I was meant to go out today as well but ... well those plans didn't go to plan. SO, I'm stuck indoors!

And because I'm stuck indoors I thought I'd take some pictures, and while I'm at it, lemme show you the newest baby to my collection of babies who aren't actually human! haha

I saved up for about a year to get these beauties!! I got the midnight collection which came with two clips, the case and the heatproof mat (and obviously the straighteners) lol... I paid £122 I think... I thought I deserved it after a year of saving up hehe

And then some pictures that I took coz I got bored:

Long time no blooooooooooooooooog... hehe

Hiiiiiiiii! =D

Happy New Year - even though we're already 20 days into it!

So... lots to tell you guys! I've just got back from a trip to India - I spent Christmas and new years over there with the whole of my family. Was so great to see my whole family over there since I hardly ever get to see them because my family and I pretty much go every 3/4 years. Not to mention, that this year was probably the last year that I'd be travelling there with my family since my whole life is about to change... and I'm scared!

I don't mean that my whole life is about to change drastically, but it's that time to - well 'spread my wings and fly out of the nest' ... and hopefully my wings will carry me well! ... It's time to stop relying so much on my family and learn to be able to rely on myself for my own needs. Because, lets face it, I can't rely of my family my whole life, can I?

So currently, I've been busy. Busy with uni, work and generally sorting out my life and planning ahead to what I think I might want to do by the time I'm in my third year (which is only really about 8/9 months to go... which isn't too long considering how fast the years are just passing by!).

BUT... I will be sticking to my youtube channel... because it's something that I love to do and I really wanna keep it going. It makes me happy!

Hopefully I'll have some videos up next week... I'll be able to film some this weekend, while I'm free. But I can feel it... It's gonna be a good year! ;)

Have a great day guys and keep smiling! =D

Miscellaneous: Long week =[

First things first, I have to say a BIG congrats to Renthead2400 for winning my first ever contest! hehe

Now let's move on to less important ramblings...

I am so thankful to say that this week is OVER! It's gone fast but none-the-less it's been a long, hard week.

I can't even begin to tell you what I did on Tuesday because I simply cannot remember anything about that day - it was the only fast day of the week.

I only realised how slow time has been going when I checked my diary today and realised I've only been back at uni for THREE weeks. It feels like it's been sooooooooooooooooo much longer - and I've got an even longer week next week because I have a 3 hour lecture everyday, plus two 7 hour shifts at work. I can safely say I'm gonna be knackered. The good thing is that while I'm busy with uni and work, the week tends to move a little bit faster. Time slows down, don't get me wrong but when you get to Friday you're like - where the hell did Monday go?!? Lol

It's getting a lot colder in London too, which is something I'm actually quite apathetic about at the moment. I normally like the cold weather because I like to wrap up warm and snuggle into a chunky knit scarf that just feels like a blanket around your neck - but it's not THAT cold enough yet. It's just cold enough to make sure you wear a jumper/jacket. So yes, I want it to get colder because this weather is stupid and I wanna wear my chunky scarves!! Lol

I also started a diet this week, because I have decided it is time for me to lose weight. =]
I started on Monday and I've stuck to it so far. I'm not normally one to eat looooooads of chocolates and crisps or anything but when you know you have to cut them out completely, you start to walk past every shop that sells them thinking 'One won't do any harm - NO NO NO musn't go in' lol... and so far my will power has served me well and I haven't touched a single chocolate bar or packet of crisps this week. Let's just hope I can keep this up. Teehee.

Last but not least, because this week has been so busy for me I haven't even got round to editing any of the videos that I filmed over the weekend. One of them being the long awaited and most requested: 'How do I do my eyebrows' video. I WILL edit them this weekend though, and I will also film more and edit THEM too - so I may just give you guys a real good dose of tutorials this weekend - maybe a Q&A video 'cause I have sooo many bloody questions to answer from my contest. I also have to start doing Halloween tutorials since they've been requested - it's late, I know. But better late than never, huh?

So, to sum up this random ramble about my week:
1. It's been a long week =[ - but next week will be even longer ='[
2. It's got cold =], but I want it to be colder =D
3. I'm on a diet ... that I'm actually sticking to! Lol =D
4. Keep a look out for a bunch of videos from me this weekend hehe =D

I'm actually surprised that I haven't managed to rant on about something awful in these miscellaneous random rambles lol... should I call them 'Random Rambles' from now on? Lol... It seems like a much more fun name for these kind of things! xD

Anyway... Have a great weekend and I shall hopefully have those videos up on my youtube channel this weekend too! =]

Lots of Love,

P.S. I also finished reading my book this week and if none of you have seen the movie 'My Sister's Keeper' my dad recommends it. I haven't seen the movie but that's the book I finished this week and it's real good. There's a real good twist at the end. (My dad told me this because he watched the movie so obviously my nose was in the book every chance I got to read it - and it did actually turn out to be a good twist hehe)

Au revoir my lovelies!

Miscellaneous: Update - on everything... and my babies! =]

Hey guys!

I know, I know. Where have I been right? The last couple of weeks have been crazy, more so this last week because it's been the last week of my Naked Palette contest AND it was an even week at uni, meaning I had a lecture every single day. On top of that I had work - so by the time I got home it was around 10pm and I was worn out. I did however, force myself to go through the contest entry comments - and on the second last day I received over A THOUSAND comments - it took me AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES to go through them all - note down all the questions and requests, but I got there eventually.

So yes, that is my excuse for not being around for the last two weeks. That and the weather here in London has been horrid, and when it rains, I feel down and not really in the best mood to do any videos. Plus, because it's so gloomy, the lighting isn't great to do tutorials when the only time I can do them is in the morning when I'm getting ready to go to uni ... and that's at like 7:30am!! And that's just way to early for me to talk about how I put on my make up. But I swear, on my odd weeks (I know odd weeks and even weeks means nothing to you guys reading this, just know that my even weeks are the busiest weeks for me =[ ) I will do as many videos as I possibly can.

Moving on... I would like you guys to meet my babies. And no, I'm twenty years old - too young to have baby let alone babies! Lol ... They're not actual human babies, they are these:

Me To You bears - These are all my babies! :P hehe

And notice how I even have two of the same one haha :P ... I got them two for Christmas from two of my friends lol. The others I got from other various loved peoples :P ... Some of whom I don't even speak to any more but these gorgeous creatures are too precious to give up. They're way more precious when they're given to you by someone you love - so I've never bought my own. I just make it known to people that I love them =D ... haha :P

I really want some of the blue nosed friends though... THOSE I might have to buy for myself haha

These are my bigger babies. The ones who don't rely on cardboard to hold 'em up so they can't sit on my window sill and on other various surfaces in my bedroom. Instead, they share my bed with me! =D And I love them just as much hehe ... And I know that Jersey Bear (the brown one) isn't a Me to You bear but it's still one of my babies hehe

Yes, I may be sad... but there are four things in my life that I will never let anyone or anything hurt:
My Me To You Bears
My Makeup!
My phone...

...And obviously, the people I love the most, which personally is my number one priority! ...

... So again, yes I'm sad, but at least I have a heart =P

Have a great weekend guys and keep a look out for my contest winner video... it should be up within the next few days coz remember, if random.org gives me a huge number since I have received over SIX THOUSAND COMMENTS, I have to count each and every comment 'til I get to that one!! Lol... But I will do my best to get it up as soon as possible so please bare with me! =D

Miscellaneous: Pointless visits to uni, new weekly swimming vow and NEW HAIRCUT! =D

This week has been a busy week for me. I actually woke up on Monday, annoyed that I had to go into uni to sort out some stuff - like really, my university is so damn unorganised! I got my results about a month later than I should have and I've only JUST been registered for my modules that I've chosen to take this year, which start this coming MONDAY! But it's all sorted now so I'm happy! =D

Tuesday I decided to go for a swim because I hadn't been in a while and I really really really love to swim, so now I've made a vow to start going on a weekly basis. I used to go every week without fail, before I started uni but now I've decided to go again! Yay! =D

This is where I go for my swimmin' =]

This is what I look like after I've had a swim ... attractive no? HAHA

On Wednesday, once again, I decided (stupidly) to go to uni. This time I had to go to a different campus because I had to pick up my NUS Student Card - I travel an HOUR AND A HALF and the bloody office that I have to collect it from is SHUT... even though they have a massive sign on their door saying 'Open from 10am til 4pm) and I got there and 1pm! Another great example of my uni being undeniably stupid unorganised!

Today I got my haircut! YAY! I decided to change my usual side fringe that I think I've had for like... EVER... to a full fringe. And... I LOVE it! =D ... I love my hairdresser... she's amazing... and she's probably the only person I trust with a pair of scissors near my hair! Seriously... I barely trust myself to cut my hair!! Lol ... I also got a great ELF package today that I order a couple of days ago. Click here to watch the haul video! =]

No plans for tomorrow yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to do. After all... I have to show off my new hair cut now haha

LUSH Storage!

So... it hasn't been very long since I've started buying stuff from LUSH Cosmetics but my collection has grown over the little time that I have. I have many favourites from LUSH and I used to keep it in the bags that LUSH provide (y'know, the little yellow ones?) and shove it all into a little box. But, now I have a much better way of storing my LUSH goodies!

Yes, this is a fruit bowl. But when I saw it (which was actually by accident) I instantly thought of my LUSH stuff.  It's perfect! It's deep, and really quite big so it can store loads of LUSH stuff, if you're like me and just can't limit yourself to a few items when you visit them. And it's orange... so I HAD to by it!! Lol ... You can tell I love the Creamy Candy Bath stuff huh? Lol

The temperature's dropping so find your fruit bowl, get some LUSH goodies, run yourself a long, hot bath and relax - take time to organise your thoughts AND your LUSH stuffs.

One Year Anniversary! =D

Yerp! Today marked my one year anniversary of making videos on youtube, and I can honestly say that I could NEVER have done it without all of the support my subscribers and everyone else has generously given me!

I remember sitting in front of the camera for the very first time with my horribly ungroomed eyebrows, filming my 'Grey and purple look'. I watch it now and I actually cringe at how posh my accent comes across and I remember how uncomfortable I was talking to myself - all in the hope that people would see it and subscribe (false hope maybe?) ... I must have done something right because I did gain subscribers, so I carried on making videos and here I am a year later with 187 subscribers (I know that's probably not that much for some of you but it's a lot for me, and it means a lot to me too), and over 20,000 views on one of my videos (I still can't believe that every time I say it haha).

I have to admit that I've learnt a lot about make-up in the last year and I'm 100% sure that I'll carry on learning more, and (unfortunately for my bank account) my make-up collection will continue to grow exponentially!

For now though, I'd just liked to throw out a MASSIVE thank you to all my subscribers... and once I start my job in September I'm definitely going to be having a contest to show how much I appreciate the support from you guys! Sure, I was laughed at, and still am by many I'm sure, but it's your support that means the most to me! =D

I hope I can continue to give you videos that you want to watch (remember to send me in your requests because that's how I know EXACTLY what you guys wanna watch) and I hope that you continue watching enjoy watching my videos!

Thank you guys soooooooooo much for everything!

Miscellaneous: What to do?!?

Hey guys!

If you're a loyal subscriber of mine, you've probably noticed that I haven't really been doing tutorials that much recently.

And I'm sorry... but the main reason for this is that I simply just do not know what kind of tutorials you guys want. Basically, I'm kind of asking for requests... but I'm also asking you to tell me what you really like on my channel, and what you'd like to see more of... coz I'm running out of ideas fast!

I will be putting up a few tutorials using the products that I bought from the 'To The Beach' collection by MAC, and maybe a couple more with the products from the Prêt-à-Papier collection but what else do you guys wanna see?

What colours? -- Day looks? -- Night time/going looks? -- Everyday/quick-to-get-ready makeup?

And it doesn't have to stop at tutorials... would you like to see a review on anything? Or any other ideas? Tags? Anything else?

Please please let me know!

You can either comment on here, or on my youtube profile... you can message me there to. Regarding requesting for reviews: you can, again, comment or message me and I'll let you know if I have the product or not. If I don't, I'll try and buy it and if I can't buy it I'll be sure to let you know. Either way, I'll respond to your request in the best way I possibly can and as fast as possible!

Thanking you all in advance... I look forward to reading some of your ideas and requests =D

Miscellaneous: Over 18,000 views =]

So... Im sitting here on my bed at precisely 00:01am and crying because I've had SUCH a horrible day. Trust me... the best part of my day was my 3 hour long exam that made my wrist hurt soooooo much (my wrists get hurt easily because I sprained them a few years back =[)! Now imagine what a horrible day I've had if the best part of it was THAT! Lol

Seeing as I was previously lying in bed, staring at the ceiling I decided to turn on my laptop and have a look at some of my old videos on youtube... and then I came across my 'How to crimp your hair' tutorial and noticed it had over 18,000 views on it! 18,256 views to be precise.

I also managed to gain more than 100 subscribers some time ago, which Im also really happy about! And now I have 130 so I'm super excited... once I hit 150 hopefully I can have a contest - SO SPREAD THE WORD hehe!!

I'm hoping that I continue to gain more subscribers and my views rise on other videos of mine!

I just wanna say a massive thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me so much through all of this and all my subcribers (my youtubefriends and family) hehe!

Click here to go to my youtube channel
Click here to go to my 'How to crimp your hair and get the groovy' tutorial

Thanks for reading and thanks again to everyone who subscribed and has supported me through my whole youtube experience... and hopefully your support will continue to show! =D

Miscellaneous: Splurge - Let me know what you think!

I have just come home after the longest day!! I didn't get to sleep 'til 3 in the morning because people either decide to call or text me at silly-hour, or my body refuses to just shut down for 8 hours - as tired as it may be!

Then, I went to work originally meant to be doing a 3 hour shift, but me being me I kindly covered the rest of my supervisors shift because she was sick and she's a reaaaaaaaaally nice lady - so I ended up working a 6 hour shift in total. "That's only 3 hours more!" I hear you say? But time draaaaaaaaags!

After work, Racheal and me attempted to go out for a drink at Bar 55 down in Camden Town. I say attempted because we queued for an hour before... not being served... so we left! I'm actually really annoyed at that - it really bugged me that after an hour of queuing up the guy takes our order, and then doesn't even make the drinks. Like the what the hell? He even ended up serving people who came after us! Not nice =[

So after LITERALLY standing for 9 and a half hours straight I have come home and am sitting at this desk because I have a new idea for myself =]

Every month I'm going to buy one expensive make up product or products. Blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, mascara etc. etc. and that item or bunch of items will be called my 'Splurge item/s' - because I figured I'm working hard for the money, so I deserve that little something at least once a month! I don't have anyone to treat me, so I might as well treat myself ;) hehe

So I wanted to ask you guys if you have any recommendations, let me know! - I'll also probably do a video when I buy the product, and will do a review on it. So if there's something you want a review on but it's too expensive for your liking let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Keep it within limits though people! I'm not gonna spend ridiculous amounts of money like £20 on a mascara - you can get £3.99 ones that work just as well, if not better. Trust me ;)

But let me know - even if it's a product that you use, or have been using and LOVE it! I wanna love it too! hehe

Thanks for reading,
Night night ;)

Another contest entry for Princess Pinkcat's Rock the runway contest ...

So this is my second entry for Princess Pinkcat's "Rock the runway" contest and this one, as you can see, is a lot more extravagant that the last. This time I actually did have a rock star as inspiration. Who better, than Toyah Wilcox??

I found this picture by pure coincidence while looking for a picture of her with mad, crazy, colourful make up - the type of make up she used to wear when she was a hit punk rocker in the 80s! But instead - I came across this. It might be a recent picture of her as an actress instead of a punk rocker, but I think it's totally legit for the runway!

I have to say, this contest entry took me the longest to do out of all of them. Even longer than that Venetian Mask that I did, if anyone knows what I'm on about. That one had loads of dots to put around the design, and I thought that was intricate work. Although it may not seem difficult to do (and probably isn't for those of you who were born artists) but the line design on the forehead took me forever to do! And I used a new special little technique that I've recently learnt (im probably late with it, I always am lol) ;) ... but it still took forever, 'cause I just could NOT do the little swirl bit. So I decided to give up and alter the design a bit. You can tell...

  • GOSH Extreme Art Eyeliner - No. 08 (Blue dot in middle of forehead)

  • 120 Pro Palette - White (White streak between lines by temples)
*I used vaseline to make the pigments a coloured liner. Just take a little bit of vaseline onto the back of your hand and mix your preferred coloured pigment into it to make it almost like a gel liner. Simple! =]

Miscellaneous:

This week has been SUCH a mad week! I think, for me, this week is the ultimate definition of hard-work!!

Monday I didn't have uni so I decided to stay home ALL day to get some studying and coursework done... so I did! I revised hard and finished the coursework - only to be told that we had been given an extension. That annoyed me. Don't you just hate it when that happens? No? lol... But at the same time I was happy that it was done and dusted so I didn't have to worry about it!

Tuesday I stayed in all day again and got another piece of coursework ... half finished... coz it bored me after a while haha... That so isn't a good excuse but it is certainly the truth =P

Wednesday I started work! =D Yay me! hehe... it was a lot of fun, I must admit. Especially working behind the till! Having said that, I have never been so confused as to what buttons to press EVER in my life before! The supervisor soooo kindly showed me all the buttons and how they related to all the products but there was just so much to take in! Looool! So whenever a customer wanted to buy something, and I didn't know what it was listed under on the till I had to call for help - but everyone I work with are such nice people. Like literally, I thought nice people were a minority until I met my colleagues (oooo look at me, I have colleagues now HAHA) ... Wednesday was just a trial run, but I got my uniform, which is literally a black polo shirt that says STAFF on it under the logo of where I work. All in all I really enjoyed myself - and I officially start working shifts on the 29th of March! Woohoo! =D

Thursday I had uni, but a very very long day at uni! I was up at like, 5am, studying for my exam that morning and didn't get home from uni 'til 9pm! So it was a very long and tiring day.

And last but not least, today (Friday) has probably been the worst day this week. Even above the long hours and forgetting buttons and not getting enough sleep because of the late nights and early mornings, today was hurrendous! Firstly, it was one of those days where you wake up happy, thinking something good is gonna come out of the day and then it gets progressively worse. You know the kinda days I'm on about? ... It's like those days where you wake up and see the sun shining with all it's glory and then the minute you step out your front door it starts raining like there's been drought for the last decade or so! You know? ... THEN I went into uni and lectures were massively boring, so I decided to slip away early hehe ;) ... and for the rest of the day people, in general, have just been adgetating me.
It's just like, you know when you've been nothing but nice to a person, and they've realised that so they start to take advantage of it? And then you feel bad to say something because it may come across mean and you kinda don't want to ruin your 'image'? ... That and the amount of hypocrites in this world just aggravates me! Lol

And to top it ALL off, even though I have a job now, I am still broke! Lol... Can't wait 'til I get my first pay cheque so I can just go celebrate - even though it'll just mean I'm broke again... but it's all for a good cause ;) haha - And I have blisters on my feet, and I got a splinter in my thumb yesterday lol... what next? xD

Anyway, I got to relax tonight - Thank God! Had a lovely bubble bath with the LUSH Creamy Candy Bubble Bar [So keep your peepers open for that review ;)] and listened to some amaaaaaaazing Jose Gonzales to calm me down and keep mind and body nice and relaxed hehe!

Take care all, and have a lovely weekend. I have the next 3/4 weeks off from uni so expect more tutorials INCLUDING a 5 min tutorial for busy peoplez (sorry it's so late Chweety)!!

Happy Mother's Day! =]

Can you honestly believe it's been a MONTH since Valentine's day? ONE WHOLE MONTH!! Lol... I can't believe how fast it's gone. I remember complaining about Valentine's Day like it was yesterday... but yesterday I was complaining about Mothers day and how much money I have to spend - money that I really don't have! Haha

So, my dad [the good ol' bank of Daddy], my brother and me got our mummy a nice big buncha red roses, a card, a nice box of Fererro Roche (is that how you spell it? lol) and my little brother and me made her some butterfly fairy cakes hehe. She's enjoyed the day so far, and she loved all the presents so, so far, so good!

Pink Butterfly Fairy Cakes- Buttercream icing in the middle =]

Hope everyone enjoys their Mother's Day! =]

So great to finally be smiling again! =D

If you know me well, or you're just a lovely person to talk to and easy to get on with, you probably know that the last 5/6 months have been Hell for me. I know I've probably been really miserable and annoying to be around haha, but so much has happened in these past few months that have just helped me get through it all and I have massive thank you's to say! First to Racheal (one of the bestest mates ever), Rob (for just having a go at me every time I have a relapse - it's like Rehab for the depressed HAHA) and everyone else from uni who have put up with all my high's and low's ... possibly more low's than high's! And I have to say thank you to Kandee Johnson as well... Honestly! I don't know her, never met her in my life... or vice versa... but I read her blog posts and they just inspire me to smile everytime =D! ...

I'm not gonna lie... most days I've woken up and thought "You have to smile today, Chanel or people are just gonna stop talking to you!!" even though I didn't want to smile ... and I tried hard to smile during the day even though I didn't really want to deep down inside... but I knew that I HAD to want to otherwise I probably never would smile again. If that makes any sense? Like, when you know you don't wanna do something, so you don't. But you know you have to WANT to do it because you have to get it done and wanting to do that thing is your only incentive! Get it? I hope that makes sense haha!

Moving on from all the thank you's and confusing-ness, I have to say that last night was probably the best night out I've had in SOOOO long and for once during the 5/6 months of being miserable, I found myself smiling... and I mean REALLY smiling. Not faking a smile; not thinking about a happy memory and smiling and then being all down, thinking I'll never have that again; not smiling because everyone else did; I smiled because I was happy on the inside and it showed on the outside! And I loved every minute of it!

So, I'm gonna close here but I'll leave you with some pictures of last night! We went down to China Town for a meal and then to Leicester Square for drinks! I got my face licked (which was very horrible!! haha) and beer spilt on me, my camera AND Edward (my phone =P ... yes I name my valuables! lol) ... but all in all it was an awesome night and I hope it wasn't a one off! =]

Visit/add me on facebook to see more piccies! hehe

Love to everyone who's been there for me through everything! =D

Everyone minus me! Lol - Liam, Kasia, Vincenzo, Szymon and Anna <3

Flashback to the 90's

Today has been a GOOD day! A very very good day! ... It's probably the first time I've had a permanent smile on my face in almost 5, maybe 6 months and NOTHING has wiped it off =] ... This morning I got a call from someone who offered me a job so I am very very happy about that and other things put a smile on my face as well ;)... but now I'm thinking positive! =D ... Things can only get better hehe! Yay!

After I did about 3 hours of revision today, I decided to dig through some old pictures and other things and it just got me reminiscing about the 90's (since I am a true 90's kid haha). I started thinking about all the old and CLASSIC Disney movies... they were honestly some of the BEST disney movies ever around in the 90's... I have to say Toy Story was and still IS the best! Although I'm sure it freaked out a lot of kids... but I thought it was just an absolutely amazing movie!! hehe ... Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin, Pocohontas, Jungle Book, The Lion King ... and sooooo many others... they're just all classics. I think the only recent-ish one that comes close is probably Cars...! ... I love that movie so much haha... the music's awesome in it! xD ... AND WHO REMEMBERS 'THE FOX AND THE HOUND'?!?!? How sad was that movie?!? ... But I think if any Disney movie is to make you cry it has to be Bambi!! Lol ... Screw the conspiracy theories about Disney!! The movies were just AH-MAY-ZIIIIING!

Moving on to other things in the 90s hehe... I know probably every girl had at least ONE Barbie and every boy probably had an Action Man... who remembers THOSE?? haha ... I was just a Barbie fanatic! I had 26 barbies, I had 5 or 6 of the little kids, I had a couple of Ken's, I had all the 'sets' (beach sets, kitchen sets, bathroom sets) ... And I remember buying a new outfit for at least one of my barbies every week! (Because then things like that were cheap from Toy Stores lol)

ANNNNNNNNND who remembers Pogs? Haha... and Tamagotchi's (which did NOT cost £10 for one in those days!!!)... and those weird Alien things that if you apparently put in the same egg together we all thought we'd get a baby alien?

So we've covered movies, toys... what about TV shows? ... Nickelodeon was awesome then... it's rubbish now haha... Kenan and Kel was AMAZING! I will never forget that show... My dad and me used to watch it whenever it was on... Tia and Tamira?? Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and I don't mean the cartoon version. I mean the REAL version where they had a special towel closet and they had Salem the AMAZING talking cat =D haha!! ... RUGRATS!!?? Omg... I miss the Rugrats =[ lol ... There's so many more that I could just sit here and list but I'd be here til next century haha

And I have to throw this in... The 'Spice Girls' !! ... Weren't they just awesome? Haha... I had everything Spice Girls! Spice Girls t-shirt, bags, underwear, pencil cases and all the other stationary accesories, I even had that movie they made! Remember that?!?

The 90's were truly the best. I miss it so much!! Lol... Who else does?!?!?

Miscellaneous - 08.03.2010

Today has been a somewhat long, tiring but still enjoyable day. This morning I was up at half past five and had to travel into Central London with barely any make up on (not a good sight for anyone to be honest!! haha) ... I was asked by my best friend Racheal to take part in her exam as a client (she's training to be a beautician =D) so I [obviously] said 'HELL YES!!' Haha... so that's the reason for going to Central London with the minimal amount of make-up on.

By 9:15am the other clients and myself were all ready to be pampered, and that we were! Facial massage, pedicure, waxing (even though I have one hairy leg *coz we had to grow our hair especially for the day* and one non hairy leg - Haha!! xD), body massage and so much more. And believe it or not, lying on a massage bed all day really tires you out! I can't imagine how the actual beauticians lasted all day! - Having said that I'm sure they all did a great job and passed with flying colours =D ... So a big thank you to Racheal (my best mate) for letting me take part and also for choosing to become a beautician - It's gonna save me a lot of money haha ;) ... Ive had a long and not so great weekend so today helped me SO much =]

Racheal and Me <3

I also got home and read something that somewhat got to me. Amanda (xoxoshorteexoxo) sent me a message and a link on facebook... here's the link so you guys can read it too and then read my mini rant on it below:

http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fnymag.com%2Fdaily%2Ffashion%2F2010%2F03%2Fare_you_familiar_with_haul_vlo.html%23comments&h=b4ac17f363831dad1bd28eec971bc77f

So... firstly I have to thank Amanda for sending me this link! Secondly, I hate the fact that someone has gone out of their way to stereotypically insult all the 'beauty gurus' (or whatever you wanna call yourselves).

The part that really gets to me:
"Haul vloggers seem to be primarily of one species: the girl who flatirons her hair, wears too-thick eye shimmer up to her eyebrows, drowns in eyeliner, and gets her brows waxed regularly. She also wears trendy-but-ugly nail polish and probably gets chemical peels at regular monthly intervals."

I can vouch for myself and the other guru's on youtube, WE DO NOT DO THAT!! If anything, we're here to tell people NOT to wear the "too-thick eye shimmer up to her eyebrows" ... and all the rest of it. I can honestly say that I have never had a chemical peel... and don't intend to!! And define 'trendy-but-ugly nail polish'? ... I really think the person who wrote this needs to get their facts straight before they go slagging off a can I say? community? of people because there are people out there that DO watch these videos and they do actually take the advice that these guru's on youtube are giving them... whether it's about fashion or make up - if these people want to watch and listen, then why should the people MAKING the videos be criticised and why should the people watching them be made to feel 'stupid' for doing so!

Anyways.. Im gonna carry on watching FRIENDS now and then Im gonna visit the land of nod, ready for my booooooooooring lecture tomorrow morning haha

Thanks for reading, this one was pretty long huh? Sorry :P

Least you guys have something to read if you can't get to sleep. No need for sleeping pills! Haha!
