Youtube Tutorial - Pink Lemon...ade

Some five years ago I remember a friend asking me "Chanel, don't you think yellow and pink really work well together?" and in my head I obviously thought of the brightest yellow and pink you could ever think of, paired them together and replied "eurgh, no way!" But I have clearly proved myself wrong.

I've always admitted that I've disliked pink. And by that I mean, I wouldn't ever choose it to be my favourite colour if I had to. And I don't ever wear pink, and neither do I really own anything that's remotely pink (apart from the necklace that inspired this look). So, even I was shocked when I put this look together.

Of course I love the two colours together but the fact that they work so well with each other and my eye colour makes me give it the real good thumbs up!

So click here to watch the tutorial, and here is a list of all the products I used, and some tips to follow ;)

Miscellaneous: Pointless visits to uni, new weekly swimming vow and NEW HAIRCUT! =D

This week has been a busy week for me. I actually woke up on Monday, annoyed that I had to go into uni to sort out some stuff - like really, my university is so damn unorganised! I got my results about a month later than I should have and I've only JUST been registered for my modules that I've chosen to take this year, which start this coming MONDAY! But it's all sorted now so I'm happy! =D

Tuesday I decided to go for a swim because I hadn't been in a while and I really really really love to swim, so now I've made a vow to start going on a weekly basis. I used to go every week without fail, before I started uni but now I've decided to go again! Yay! =D

This is where I go for my swimmin' =]

This is what I look like after I've had a swim ... attractive no? HAHA

On Wednesday, once again, I decided (stupidly) to go to uni. This time I had to go to a different campus because I had to pick up my NUS Student Card - I travel an HOUR AND A HALF and the bloody office that I have to collect it from is SHUT... even though they have a massive sign on their door saying 'Open from 10am til 4pm) and I got there and 1pm! Another great example of my uni being undeniably stupid unorganised!

Today I got my haircut! YAY! I decided to change my usual side fringe that I think I've had for like... EVER... to a full fringe. And... I LOVE it! =D ... I love my hairdresser... she's amazing... and she's probably the only person I trust with a pair of scissors near my hair! Seriously... I barely trust myself to cut my hair!! Lol ... I also got a great ELF package today that I order a couple of days ago. Click here to watch the haul video! =]

No plans for tomorrow yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to do. After all... I have to show off my new hair cut now haha

Youtube Tutorial - Olive look [Inglot Palette Look 2]

Hey guys,

So here's the second look using my inglot palette. I did only use one colour from the palette but the beauty of Inglot's Freedom System is that you can make your own Inglot Palette - so if you want to create this look yourself with your own Inglot Palette then just look for similar colours. If you don't have the colours that I use in the video then obviously, you can use whatever similar colours you have! =]

Here are some pictures and the list of all the products I used:
EYES:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Inglot Eyeshadow #419 (Click here to see a picture of the palette)

MAC Haul - To The Beach

Hey guys!

Im so happy that my exams are over now... I feel like I can finally start enjoying myself! hehe

I ran over to the MAC store after my exam finished and was very quite pleased to see that they had the 'To The Beach' collection right in the front of the store. I have to say though, that I was suprised when I saw the products. It wasn't really what I'd expected after looking at the products online for so long; I noticed that I liked the look of the lip products more than I liked the eyeshadows. And if I had ordered online, I would have probably ordered the two blushes - both of which I didn't really like when I saw them upfront. The pink one was just too similar to any other blush that I could pick up for much cheaper. I'm sick of pink blushes! I thought going to the beach was meant to be about a summery, golden, bronzy look?

And the other blush would have literally been a face powder for me... it wouldn't have added colour to my cheeks. I think it would have just made me look too muddy because it was SO similar to my skin tone. I was however, upset that the highlighting powder was sold out - serves me right for not following my instincts and ordering it online hey? ... But I know I would have been way to sad to use it and see the seahorse disappear before my eyes, bit by bit every time I used it lol.

Anyway... here's the list of the products I DID like the look of and I DID buy:
-Sand and Sun Eyeshadow - Matte
-Firecracker Eyeshadow - Veluxe Pearl
-Lazy Day Lipstick - Lustre
-Thrills Lipstick - Frost
-Flurry of Fun Lipglass

First impressions:
On first look, I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove the lipglass that I bought. I love orange as it is, and I love seahorses... so what actually comes inside the tube is just a plus! Lol ... I'm also really loving the lazy day lipstick. Wasn't too sure about it at first, but if it's pink and I buy it, I know some part of me likes it... I just need to find that part! Lol

I do love all the products I bought, and I'm looking forward to using them. I prefered this collection to the Pret a Papier collection - just because it had more colour and the lip products are better ;) - BUT don't get me wrong... I still love the products I got from the Pret a Papier collection! hehe

Soo!! Here are the pictures! =D

Okay... so I know this is majorly late and I know I should have posted this blog when I actually uploaded the tutorial but I haven't had time until now, so here it is!

I actually didn't go out on the day that I filmed this tutorial so I basically wore it around my house - but I will surely be wearing this look out and about during summer [if we ever get one here in the UK]...

Before I saw Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) from 90210 wearing this look, I would never have thought of putting the two colours together! And now, I absolutely LOVE the combo!

E.L.F Haul

Okay, so don't kill me that this blogpost is up majorly late, but I've been on holiday for the last week ;)

These are pretty much all the products that I bought from ELF.

From top left to bottom right:
- Eyebrow Kit (Studio Line) - Medium
- Blush (Studio Line) - Candid Coral
- All over colour Stick - Golden Peach
- Duo Eye Shadow Cream - Berry Mix
- Natural Radiance Blusher - Coy
- Shimmering Facial Whip - Toasted
- Natural Lashes
- Mineral Lipgloss - Sorority Girl
- Luscious Liquid Lipstick - Caramel Candy
- Hypershine Gloss - Fairy

So far, I'm loving almot ALL of the products. I didn't like the Natural Radiance Blusher at first as the colour didn't really show up on my skin, but I've used it as an eyeshadow and it looks fab! I haven't yet tried the duo eyeshadow cream but I hear it works great as a base for eyeshadow - so hopefully I'll be trying it soon!

The last product that I mention in the same haul video is a new concealer that I'm trying out is the Barbara Daly Concealer in Medium.

Her range of products are sold in larger Tesco stores, but this is the first time I've tried a Barbara Daly product. So far, so good. I'm really liking it! A review will be up soon! =D

Another contest entry for Princess Pinkcat's Rock the runway contest ...

So this is my second entry for Princess Pinkcat's "Rock the runway" contest and this one, as you can see, is a lot more extravagant that the last. This time I actually did have a rock star as inspiration. Who better, than Toyah Wilcox??

I found this picture by pure coincidence while looking for a picture of her with mad, crazy, colourful make up - the type of make up she used to wear when she was a hit punk rocker in the 80s! But instead - I came across this. It might be a recent picture of her as an actress instead of a punk rocker, but I think it's totally legit for the runway!

I have to say, this contest entry took me the longest to do out of all of them. Even longer than that Venetian Mask that I did, if anyone knows what I'm on about. That one had loads of dots to put around the design, and I thought that was intricate work. Although it may not seem difficult to do (and probably isn't for those of you who were born artists) but the line design on the forehead took me forever to do! And I used a new special little technique that I've recently learnt (im probably late with it, I always am lol) ;) ... but it still took forever, 'cause I just could NOT do the little swirl bit. So I decided to give up and alter the design a bit. You can tell...

Products Used:
EYES:

  • Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP25 Red

  • 120 Pro Palette - Red

  • Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black

  • 120 Pro Palette - Black
FOREHEAD:

  • Vaseline*

  • Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD66 Black (Black Lines)

  • Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 11 Shake it up! (glitter liner over black lines)

  • 2true Eye shadow Dazzlers - Shade No. 9 (Blue lines)

  • Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 6 Night Fever (glitter liner over blue lines)

  • Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD44 Bronze (Gold area between blue lines)

  • GOSH Extreme Art Eyeliner - No. 08 (Blue dot in middle of forehead)

  • 120 Pro Palette - White (White streak between lines by temples)
*I used vaseline to make the pigments a coloured liner. Just take a little bit of vaseline onto the back of your hand and mix your preferred coloured pigment into it to make it almost like a gel liner. Simple! =]

FACE:

  • Astral Moisturiser

  • Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer - 4 Deep
LIPS:

  • Barry M Lip Liner - LL3 Red

  • NYC Ultra Last Lipwear - 402B Red Flame

  • Clear lip gloss
That's everything I used, and even the new little technique that I've learnt with vaseline and pigments hehe.

I'll leave you with some more pictures now. Click here to go check out the contest video if you feel to, it's only me talking a little bit about what I did! =]

Enjoy!

Contest Entry - Rocking The Runway With Princess PinkCat

I was so not in the mood for make up when I woke up this morning. I had a shower, spent some time with the mother (Happy Mother's Day =D) and then I saw myself in the mirror and thought 'AHH! NEED MAKE UP!' haha... so I started playing around with my 120 pro palette, trying to come up with something and created this look:

Since it's kinda jazzy and funky, I thought I'd use it as my contest entry, for Princess Pinkcat rocking the runway contest! =]

Products used:
EYES:
Barry M Fine Glitter Dust - FGD24 Toffee
120 pro palette - Purple, Grey and Pink
2true Effortless Waterproof Eyeliner - Black
Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black
Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 11 Shake it up!
Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP10 Gold
L'oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes Technology Mascara - Black

FACE:
Astral Original Moisturiser
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer- 4 Deep
Collection 2000 Pressed Powder - 2 Tender Touch
GOSH Natural Blush - 39 Electric Pink

LIPS:
Lush Sugar Lip Scrub - Bubblegum
Vaseline - Aloe Vera
NYC Lip Liner Pencil - 956
GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick - 127 Mulberry

The standard of everyone elses entries are amazing and extravagant so I wanted to keep it simple to show that 'Rocking the Runway' doesn't always mean extravagant... having said that I don't think I'll win coz as I said, everyone elses is so amazing! But I'm glad I entered! PrincessPinkcat was my first ever subscriber so from here on out, I will enter every single one of her contests!! Lol ... This wasn't really my original idea but maybe I'll enter with that later on as she's extended the contest hehe. So for now, this is my entry! =D

Thanks again to PrincessPinkcat for holding the contest, and good luck to everyone who's entered! =D

If you wanna enter yourself, click here!

For more pictures visit my facebook!

Here are a few more pics for you =] ... comment and let me know if you think I should do a tutorial for it, if not, lemme know what you think of it anyway! =D

Smokey Chocolate...

...and no I dont mean that literally lol. I did a new tutorial today and it's for the look that I was wearing in my Feb's Fab Faves! video.

I got fed up of wearing black eyeshadow all over my eye so I thought I'd go for brown instead, and it's turned out better than the black... I think so anyway =P

Personally... I would wear this look during the day (as with the all black look). But the all black look can border on emo if you wear it too dark or wear it too much! Lol... Not that that's a bad thing ... I have nothing against emo's ;) ... but I get bored easily - well, when it comes to make up anyway (always need a new look)! Haha =P  ... But yeah as I was saying - I would definitley wear this look out and about during the day, just because it is a lot more toned down than the all black. But don't get me wrong... I still think the all black look is totally sexy, but Im not planning on seducing anyone, anytime soon! ... Or am I? ;P

So anyways moving on... this look, I find, is a lot more simple to do than the Valentines Day Tutorial 2- Sexy black and red smokey eye! and it only involes using a few products too:

  1. Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD53 Chocolate (or any other dark brown eyeshadow you may have that has slight shimmer in it with a copper undertone)

  2. 120 Pro Palette - Copper colour (or any other copper you may have - doesn't need to be shimmery or anything... just as long as it's copper)

  3. Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black (or basically just a standard black eye liner - you can use pencil, liquid, gel ... anything!)

  4. L'oreal double extension mascara - beauty tubes technology (or any other mascara of your choice =] )
And that's everything you need! So once you've got all of that, click here to find out how to get the look and you're ready! - There's also a little cheeky wink from me to you in that video too ... just coz I felt cheeky ;) haha
