YouTube Tutorial - The Blooz

Hey guys

I've had loads of requests over the past few years since I've been on youtube, to do a tutorial using blue eyeshadow. I've done one or two using navy but never anything much like this look.

Here are some tips when attempting to pull of blue eyeshadow:
- Find the right shade that suits you. If you're confident with wearing colour then you could probably wear any blue and look great, but for those who aren't so confident with bright, bold colours wear the paler shades. Pale blue is a beautiful shade of blue for any skintone. For those who like dark eyes, use the navy blues.
- Always pair with an earth-toned eyeshadow. Taupes, greys and blacks are perfect with blue. I did use navy blue in this look to add a little bit of depth to the outer-v. Never match a light blue with a conflicting shade of blue though.
- Keep your cheeks and lips nude and natural as you possibly can. This applies to most vibrant eye make up - if you want to keep the attention to the eyes don't pair them with a bright, bold lipstick. It WILL look silly.

So with those tips in hand, here's a look for you to try:

List of products:
EYES:
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24HR - #55 Immortal Charcoal
- Barry M Fine Glitter Dust - #5 and #27
- MAC Burmese Beauty Eyeshadow Quad - Burmese Beauty and Showstopper
- MAC Eyeshadow - Bisque, Contrast
- MAC Eye Kohl - Blooz
- Eylure False Eyelashes #070
- Maybelline Falsies Mascara - Flared

FACE:
- MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 - NC42

YouTube Tutorial: Mermaid Inspired Eyes

Heya guys!

WOO FOR MY 100TH BLOG POST! (Only took me two years to get here haha)

Anyways... here's my fun, colourful tutorial that I promised you all.

I came up with this look because I was playing around with my Barry M dazzle dusts and I really wanted to share this with you guys coz it's so pretty - well I think so anyway.

I didn't originally intend on creating a look inspired by a mermaid's tail but I once completed the colours just reminded me of the beautiful colours of a mermaid's tail - even though they're not real lol

Okay so anyway, here's the list of the products that I used:

FACE:
- MAC Studio Fix Foundation - NC42
- MAC Blush Breath of Plum

EYES:
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Barry M Dazzle Dusts - 78; Kingfisher and 99; Bright Indigo
- MAC Eyeshadow - Bisque and All That Glitters
- MAC Quad (from Shop/Cook collection) - Call Me Bubbles
- MAC FluidLine - Blacktrack
- Naturalites Eylures #100

LIPS:
- Barry M Lip Pencil - 2 Dark Pink

Youtube Tutorial - Seven Deadly Sins Series - Sloth

Hey guys!

So, finally I have managed to film and upload another tutorial and FINALLY it is another addition to my seven deadly sins series. The main reason I've taken so long in doing this is purely because inspiration took ages to hit me, and I'm not a very artsy person, so it is difficult for me to come up with these things. Never-the-less, it is here, and this one it SLOTH! =]

Products I used:

EYES:
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP11 Silver
- Barry M Dazzle Dusts - DD23 and DD10
- MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner - Signature Blue
- MAC Fluidline Eyeliner - Blacktrack
- MAC Eyeshadows - Wedge, Sand & Sun
- Maybelline Falsies Mascara
- Naturalites False Eyelashes - #101

FACE:
- Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF15 - #5 Honey
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer - NW35
- MAC Blush - Melba
- Star Gazer White Body Glitter (I bought this from a fancy dress/party store)
- Pale Blue feathers (I bought these from a craft store)

LIPS:
- Barry M Lip Pencil - LP6
- Barry M Lip Paint - 136
- MAC Lipglass - Best of Breed

I used Duo Adhesive glue to stick on the false eyelashes and the feathers. Make sure you use a glue that your skin will not react badly to. i.e. if you know you're allergic to latex don't use the blue duo adhesive, use the red one. Other than that, any other glue that is suitable to stick things onto your skin is good enough to use.

Do leave feedback on what you think of the whole look =]

This is the look that I wore on my birthday to go out with a couple of friends for dinner and drinks. I really hope you guys like this look - personally I LOVE it. Thought I probably love it so much because I lurrrrrrrrve purples and blues together and I'm addicted to navy at the moment - it seems to be a very popular colour this year for autumn/winter.

Youtube Tutorial - Mint Contrast (Green and Navy Blue)

Hey guys!

I mentioned in my August Favourites video that I would do a tutorial using the Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mint Green, so here it is. Apologies for the horrible pictures, but you may have to put up with that quality for a while until I either get my camera sorted or just simply get a new one.

Before I purchased the MAC eye shadow in Contrast, I tried this look with black and that works just as well, but I'm fed up with using so much black so I went for navy blue instead. And the blue goes so well with the green, which is great!

7. Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black
8. E.L.F Studio Eyebrow kit - Dark
9. L'oreal Double Extension Mascara - Renewal Serum Mascara

LIPS:

FACE:

August Favourites!

I cannot believe it's already August. It's probably the most favourite time of year for me because it means that my birthday is right around the corner (which, as I get older, isn't really a good thing) and it also means that autumn is closing in on us, and autumn is by far my favourite season =D

Anyway... here are my August favourites. As I said in the video, I can't take any pictures of the collection because annoyingly my camera has decided to break itself (literally... it broke and no-one knows how so I'm sticking to "it broke itself").

1. MAC Paint Pot - Groundwork
2. MAC Eye Shadow - Wedge
3. MAC Eye Shadow - Handwritten
4. Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD82 Mint Green
5. Johnson and Johnson Facial Moisturiser - Dreamy Skin Night Moisturiser and Daily Essentials Facial Moisturise with SPF15
6. MAC Blush - Melba
7. MAC Brush 217 Blending Brush
8. Inglot Brush 28PO

Haul - Barry M

Hey guys!

I've been such a huge fan of Barry M, especially their dazzle dusts and fine glitter dusts, for as long as I can remember. So when I heard that they had released four new dazzle dusts I headed straight down to my local superdrug and had a good ol' look at them!

The four new dazzle dusts, numbered 99 through to 102 are gorgeous and I managed to get my hands on three of them (sadly superdrug was out of DD101 Buff), which is a slight shame but I will be going back or maybe to a different branch to try and get my hands on DD101 Buff hehe.

Along with purchasing three of the new beauties, I picked up DD98 as well, which is petrol black. Here are some pictures and my initial thoughts:

Clockwise:
DD98 - Petrol Black
DD99 - Bright Indigo
DD100 - Brass
DD102 - Burgundy Noir

DD98 Petrol Black - Black based dazzle dust with blue/green shimmer.

In my opinion: I love this colour! It slightly reminds me of Oil Slick by Urban Decay with the difference that the shimmer is blue/green in colour and not boring old white/silver. I think this dazzle dust would make any eyes REALLY dazzle ;)

DD99 Bright Indigo - Bold, dark purple.

In my opinion: A pretty flat colour as there isn't any shimmer, so I don't really know how I feel about this one just yet. I love purples in general so I knew I had to pick it up, but until I try this on my eyes I can't tell you how much I like it. I do however, think it will spice up a purple smokey eye - or even if you choose to wear this dazzle dust with a gold colours. I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun playing around with this one!

DD100 Brass - Dark bronze. (VERY similar to DD45)

In my opinion: Strangely, unlike the other two dazzle dusts (DD99 Bright Indigo and DD102 Burgundy Noir) I've managed to see up close (and not just on the website*) this one is probably the least original and also the one I least like. I wasn't too sure about purchasing this one at first because I thought it was a very similar colour to DD45 Bronze, and I was right, but for some reason I just couldn't part with it. On the other hand, after bringing it home and having a proper think about it, I'm slightly glad that I did still buy it because I think it would go great with both Bright Indigo and Burgundy Noir.

*The pictures of the products on the website do not hold close resemblance to the true colours. My advice would be that if you seem interested in any of these then do go down to your local superdrug store, if you can. However, some of the dazzle dusts are not available in superdrug and therefore are only available to purchase via the website.

DD102 Burgundy Noir - True burgundy dazzle dust with gold and pink shimmer.

In my opinion: This is definitley my favourite dazzle dust out of all the new ones. It's just such a beautiful colour and the gold shimmer running through it makes it an even better colour to wear with most of the original dazzle dusts (DD38 Beige, DD39 Tan, DD49 Fawn etc), while the pink shimmer allows you to be able to wear this dazzle dust with pretty much any pink eyeshadow you can think of! I'm so happy I bought this and cannot wait to use it! It also reminds me of arabic/bollywood make up!

If you have any further questions on any of the products mentioned here today, please feel free to ask.
If you've bought any of these as well then I'd love to hear your thoughts on them - which one's your favourite?

Another contest entry for Princess Pinkcat's Rock the runway contest ...

So this is my second entry for Princess Pinkcat's "Rock the runway" contest and this one, as you can see, is a lot more extravagant that the last. This time I actually did have a rock star as inspiration. Who better, than Toyah Wilcox??

I found this picture by pure coincidence while looking for a picture of her with mad, crazy, colourful make up - the type of make up she used to wear when she was a hit punk rocker in the 80s! But instead - I came across this. It might be a recent picture of her as an actress instead of a punk rocker, but I think it's totally legit for the runway!

I have to say, this contest entry took me the longest to do out of all of them. Even longer than that Venetian Mask that I did, if anyone knows what I'm on about. That one had loads of dots to put around the design, and I thought that was intricate work. Although it may not seem difficult to do (and probably isn't for those of you who were born artists) but the line design on the forehead took me forever to do! And I used a new special little technique that I've recently learnt (im probably late with it, I always am lol) ;) ... but it still took forever, 'cause I just could NOT do the little swirl bit. So I decided to give up and alter the design a bit. You can tell...

Products Used:
EYES:

  • Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP25 Red

  • 120 Pro Palette - Red

  • Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black

  • 120 Pro Palette - Black
FOREHEAD:

  • Vaseline*

  • Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD66 Black (Black Lines)

  • Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 11 Shake it up! (glitter liner over black lines)

  • 2true Eye shadow Dazzlers - Shade No. 9 (Blue lines)

  • Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 6 Night Fever (glitter liner over blue lines)

  • Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD44 Bronze (Gold area between blue lines)

  • GOSH Extreme Art Eyeliner - No. 08 (Blue dot in middle of forehead)

  • 120 Pro Palette - White (White streak between lines by temples)
*I used vaseline to make the pigments a coloured liner. Just take a little bit of vaseline onto the back of your hand and mix your preferred coloured pigment into it to make it almost like a gel liner. Simple! =]

FACE:

  • Astral Moisturiser

  • Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer - 4 Deep
LIPS:

  • Barry M Lip Liner - LL3 Red

  • NYC Ultra Last Lipwear - 402B Red Flame

  • Clear lip gloss
That's everything I used, and even the new little technique that I've learnt with vaseline and pigments hehe.

I'll leave you with some more pictures now. Click here to go check out the contest video if you feel to, it's only me talking a little bit about what I did! =]

Enjoy!

Contest Entry - Rocking The Runway With Princess PinkCat

I was so not in the mood for make up when I woke up this morning. I had a shower, spent some time with the mother (Happy Mother's Day =D) and then I saw myself in the mirror and thought 'AHH! NEED MAKE UP!' haha... so I started playing around with my 120 pro palette, trying to come up with something and created this look:

Since it's kinda jazzy and funky, I thought I'd use it as my contest entry, for Princess Pinkcat rocking the runway contest! =]

Products used:
EYES:
Barry M Fine Glitter Dust - FGD24 Toffee
120 pro palette - Purple, Grey and Pink
2true Effortless Waterproof Eyeliner - Black
Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black
Collection 2000 Dazzling Gel Liner - 11 Shake it up!
Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP10 Gold
L'oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes Technology Mascara - Black

FACE:
Astral Original Moisturiser
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer- 4 Deep
Collection 2000 Pressed Powder - 2 Tender Touch
GOSH Natural Blush - 39 Electric Pink

LIPS:
Lush Sugar Lip Scrub - Bubblegum
Vaseline - Aloe Vera
NYC Lip Liner Pencil - 956
GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick - 127 Mulberry

The standard of everyone elses entries are amazing and extravagant so I wanted to keep it simple to show that 'Rocking the Runway' doesn't always mean extravagant... having said that I don't think I'll win coz as I said, everyone elses is so amazing! But I'm glad I entered! PrincessPinkcat was my first ever subscriber so from here on out, I will enter every single one of her contests!! Lol ... This wasn't really my original idea but maybe I'll enter with that later on as she's extended the contest hehe. So for now, this is my entry! =D

Thanks again to PrincessPinkcat for holding the contest, and good luck to everyone who's entered! =D

If you wanna enter yourself, click here!

Here are a few more pics for you =] ... comment and let me know if you think I should do a tutorial for it, if not, lemme know what you think of it anyway! =D

Smokey Chocolate...

...and no I dont mean that literally lol. I did a new tutorial today and it's for the look that I was wearing in my Feb's Fab Faves! video.

I got fed up of wearing black eyeshadow all over my eye so I thought I'd go for brown instead, and it's turned out better than the black... I think so anyway =P

Personally... I would wear this look during the day (as with the all black look). But the all black look can border on emo if you wear it too dark or wear it too much! Lol... Not that that's a bad thing ... I have nothing against emo's ;) ... but I get bored easily - well, when it comes to make up anyway (always need a new look)! Haha =P  ... But yeah as I was saying - I would definitley wear this look out and about during the day, just because it is a lot more toned down than the all black. But don't get me wrong... I still think the all black look is totally sexy, but Im not planning on seducing anyone, anytime soon! ... Or am I? ;P

So anyways moving on... this look, I find, is a lot more simple to do than the Valentines Day Tutorial 2- Sexy black and red smokey eye! and it only involes using a few products too:

  1. Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD53 Chocolate (or any other dark brown eyeshadow you may have that has slight shimmer in it with a copper undertone)

  2. 120 Pro Palette - Copper colour (or any other copper you may have - doesn't need to be shimmery or anything... just as long as it's copper)

  3. Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black (or basically just a standard black eye liner - you can use pencil, liquid, gel ... anything!)

  4. L'oreal double extension mascara - beauty tubes technology (or any other mascara of your choice =] )
And that's everything you need! So once you've got all of that, click here to find out how to get the look and you're ready! - There's also a little cheeky wink from me to you in that video too ... just coz I felt cheeky ;) haha

February's Fabulous Favourites!

February is over!! And thank the Lord for that! I know it's meant to be the shortest month, but so far it feels like it's been the longest! It's actually been a very busy month for me... at uni and at home! And uni exams are right round the corner now, so I'm not looking forward to that either!

But still, a woman can always rely on her make up to make her feel better hehe! So these are the few products I picked out to be my February Favourites! I picked them because I found myself using these products the MOST during the month. Most of these products have actually been in my collection for a while, but I've just recently dug 'em out and started using them a lot!

In order from most favourite to least favourite [both Barry M items are not mentioned in my youtube video but swatches of both are in the picture below]:
  1. Lush Bubblegum Sugar Lip Scrub - Makes your lips soooooooooooooooooo kissably soft ;) ... I LOVE it... and it tastes amazing! It's a jar full of sweetness [literally haha]
  2. Barry M Lipstick [Number 136] - I love this lipstick so much... I have TWO! One for home and one for my emergency make up kit. Love, love, love it! I never thought I'd like it so much ... but I soooo do! hehe
  3. Barry M Glossy Tube Lipgloss [Fabulously Nude] - Great colour, great taste, great product! It's such ashame it's a limited edition!!
  4. Miss Wax by Elegant touch Pre-cut eyebrow shapers - Get rid of all the little annoying hairs and doesn't hurt as much as you think it would! Lol
  5. Pantene Style Pro V Mousse - Perfect for the long lasting hold; especially for curls and waves! ;)
  6. L'oreal Dermo Expertise - I've used this once before but didn't repurchase it until now. Gets rid of make up easily and thoroughly - most of the time =P
